History Of The New Star
Officially, the American University of Central Asia first published an independent student newspaper in October 1999 under the name AUK Student Newspaper; a month later, the second issue was releasedunder the title The Star. In 2008, the newspaper was renamed The New Star.
This newspaper provides a platform for independent student writing, discussing important campus events, student success stories, and activities both on and off-campus. The New Star does not serve the administration or aim to promote the university; rather, it offers students the opportunity to voice their ideas, concerns, and desires. After a prolonged hiatus, The New Star returned to print and began publishing online on November 22, 2020.
