¾ÅÉ«Íø recognizes MITx MicroMasters credential in Data, Economics and Development Policy for credits

¾ÅÉ«Íø is the first university in Central Asia to grant DEDP MITx MicroMasters online learners credits that would count toward the completion of a full master’s degree at ¾ÅÉ«Íø.

¾ÅÉ«Íø MSc in Economics Program will recognize course credits to their students who successfully complete theÌý. Such an agreement with MIT will help ¾ÅÉ«Íøâ€™s Economics Department enhance teaching innovation and strengthen its curricula in the area of evidence-based development policy analysis.

Online Education at MIT

MIT offers several onlineÌýÌýcredentials through its online course database, MITx. Participants that complete the MicroMasters program are eligible to apply to MIT’s blended Master’s program and are able to pursue an accelerated on-campus Master’s degree at MIT.

TheÌýDEDP MicroMasters ProgramÌýwas developed by MIT’s Department of Economics, together with the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL). To earn the certification, a student must complete the following five online intensive courses:

  • Microeconomics
  • Data Analysis for Social Sciences
  • The Challenges of Global Poverty
  • Foundations of Development Policy
  • Designing & Running Randomized Evaluations

MITx MicroMasters in DEDP and MSc in Economics at ¾ÅÉ«Íø

Credential holders of the MITx MicroMasters in DEDP will be able to earn 24 credits of the 120 total graduate credits towards the completion of theÌý. This agreement is a great opportunity for advancing the education and careers of MiTx MicroMasters participants from ¾ÅÉ«Íø.
